Apple’s new Android app helps you keep track of nearby AirTags

Credit: Eric Zeman / Android Authority Apple’s new AirTag app for Android, called Tracker Detect, helps you keep track of nearby AirTags. Users can scan for nearby devices compatible with Apple’s Find My network to see if they’re being tracked. Tracker Detect is available for free in the Google Play Store. Apple’s AirTag item trackers can be a double-edged sword. They’re extremely reliable and accurate item trackers , so clipping them onto your important items almost ensures you’ll never lose things like your wallet or keys. But they can also be used maliciously. If someone wants to track your whereabouts, they can throw one into your bag or purse, and you might never know it’s there. The official Minecraft app now has cross-platform support for PC and Xbox One and it’s getting harder and harder for competitors to keep up. We have a guide for that here if you need it. from Apps – Android Authority https://ift.tt/3rYUti0 https://ift.tt/3rU6rcF

Android alternatives to some of the best iOS apps

Credit: C. Scott Brown / Android Authority iOS has a lot of great apps, and many of them are exclusive to the platform. It’s one of the reasons people enjoy Apple phones over Android devices. However, Android is no slouch either. It competes in basically the same ecosystems as Apple, and you can get a lot done with both operating systems. Plus, over the years, a lot of products have made it to Android from iOS. Apple Music and Spark Mail are just two prominent examples. Additionally, Android users have their own version of Airdrop called Nearby Share. Most Android OEMs also include things like time-lapse video capture and slow-motion into their stock camera apps so you don’t need a third party for most of those things. We’ve also omitted obvious transitions like moving from iCloud to Google Drive. So, it’s not as difficult to switch between Android and iOS as you might think. Here are other Android alternatives to some of the best iOS apps. from Apps – Android Authority http

Apple scores a big win in China with the iPhone 13, but it won't last

Apple is doing all the right things in China, but its Android rivals will catch up soon. Samsung and Apple dominate phone sales charts in North America, but that's not the case in other global markets. For instance, Samsung has less than a 1% market share in China, with the South Korean giant overshadowed by its Chinese counterparts. October sales figures from Counterpoint show the scale of this achievement, with Apple going from a 13% share to 22% in the course of a month.
